On 12 August and again on 09 September the team at St Andrews Church in Rugby welcomed several youngsters from Rugby Area Talent Trust into the cafe area. Live performances from Jess, Emily, Lois, Macie and Oliwia entertained the cafe customers and welcomed visitors to the church.
The vocalists were accompanied by pianist and RATT Musical Director Duncan Arrow and played for a couple of hours on each occasion.
David Head, one of the trustees at RATT, said “The church is a beautiful place to play, and as ever it’s great to give our young performers the chance to show off their talent and gain a little bit more experience – it’s a very different audience to that they experience at a fete, evening concert or school event.”
The September performance was part of St Andrew’s heritage open day, so there was a lot going on in the building. Rector Imogen May said the performances were “wonderful”, and many of the visitors commented that live music really added to the experience of visiting the historic building.
RATT will be at St Andrew’s again on the evening of Friday 22 September for a concert featuring 6 talented youngsters from the town.
