Regent Street estate agent Brown & Cockerill have chosen to sponsor newly formed charity Rugby Area Talent Trust this year as part of their commitment to supporting community activity in the town.
The company have provided the charity’s first significant donation which will cover the costs of launching and administering the charity in its early months and will also allow it to provide its first grants, expected to be in January of next year.
Rugby Area Talent Trust, also known as RATT, was launched this August. RATT will be raising funds which will then be used to support young people from the Borough who demonstrate talent in music, arts, sport, academia and entrepreneurship. David Head, one of the founding trustees of the charity, said “At events in the town we often see great talent and potential in our youngsters and RATT will be proud to support, encourage and promote those people in the future. The generous donation we have received from Brown & Cockerill will enable us to do that much sooner than we originally expected and we are grateful for their help”.
Carl Adam-Watts, Director at the estate agent, added “Brown & Cockerill have been active in supporting the local community for a number of years now so it is fantastic that we can now lend our backing to Rugby Area Talent Trust. I have worked with David previously on a number of community projects and have continually been impressed with his enthusiasm. Rugby has never been short of home-grown talent and we recognise that the financial support required to help develop these individuals is often lacking. We are certainly very proud to be part of RATT and to help make that difference”.
More information about RATT is at davidh68.sg-host.com and the charity can also be found on Twitter and Facebook (@RugbyRATT). Cheque donations to the new charity can be sent to Rugby Area Talent Trust at c/o 20 Millfields Avenue, Rugby, CV21 4HJ.
