The official launch of Rugby Area Talent Trust, already becoming known as RATT, will take place later this month in the town centre. The launch party is Rugby Mini Fest, a day of live music at The Bank on Bank Street on 22nd August.
The event is being supported by 12 live acts from the town and surrounding area, and will showcase some exciting new talent as well as established local acts. Rugby Mini Fest is being headlined by The Recruits and will run from 2pm – 11pm.
Opening the event will be young singer Emily Goodwin, 13, whose performance will also mark the official launch of RATT.
Rugby Area Talent Trust has been set up with the aim of supporting young people from the town who demonstrate talent and flair in music, arts, sport, entrepreneurship and academia. The charity will be fundraising at the event and over the next few months prior to launching a small grants programme early in 2016.
David Head, one of the founding trustees of the charity and organisers of Rugby Mini Fest, said “It’s so important that young people with talent get the opportunities and support they need to be able to make the most of their abilities. RATT will run events to give people experience, exposure and confidence, and provide small grants to help nurture skills and talent. I can’t wait for Rugby Mini Fest which will be a great event as well as our launch party.
